Putting My Experience
Jackie has degrees in Computer Science from Anderson University, Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. Jackie worked in corporate environments for more than 30 years for three global chemical companies in positions on increasing responsibility and diversity. Her career included chemical sales, product management, customer service, purchasing and Six Sigma Black Belt.
Although she has worked in many roles, her first love has always been computer science and computer coding is a hobby. Jackie's interest in computers allowed her the opportunity to go beyond the norm to higher education.
For over 10 years, Jackie organized “You Be the Chemist” challenges for middle school students. State winners advanced to the annual YBTC Nationals in Philadelphia. “Girls Who Code” was another passion which promoted Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) education for middle school girls.
Jackie served one term on the Charleston County Procurement Board of Appeals. She served on the Charleston County Assessment Board of Appeals and on the Johns Island Council. She was also an active participant with the Concerned Citizens of Johns Island organization.
